Broker: Sept. 15 deadline for carrier paperwork; open enrollment late August–early September for Oct. 1 start

Mark Rodriguez said that if the commission decided to switch, broker and staff would request carrier paperwork immediately, aim to have enrollments loaded into the carrier system by around Sept. 8 and complete carrier finalization by Sept. 11; he said Sept. 15 was the final administrative deadline to guarantee members receive ID cards and full system access by the Oct. 1 plan year start. Rodriguez said the city’s typical open-enrollment window would be roughly two weeks at the end of August into early September and that the broker would provide enrollment presentations and an employee booklet.
