Hemphill County commissioners approve routine business, contracts and bills

The Hemphill County Commissioners' Court met June 9, 2025, and approved a slate of routine items and contracts. Motions that carried included approval of the May 12 minutes, interlocal tax-collection agreements for CISD, the City of Canadian, Hemphill County Hospital and the Hemphill County Underground Water Conservation District, a contingent-fee contract with Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collins & Mott, LLP under Section 6.30 of the Tax Code for collection of delinquent government receivables, a donated tree-removal project from Timber Oklahoma around the Rodeo Grounds and Recreation Complex, and a jail contract with Lipscomb County.
The court also approved the Treasurer's Report and several sets of bills. An invoice from Schafer Services for $200 was approved with Commissioner Dale Schafer recorded as abstaining; all other listed motions carried unopposed. The meeting adjourned at 9:42 a.m.
