Colebrook moves toward repossession of 65 Colby Street; no buyer found

Town Manager Tim Stevens told the Selectboard May 12 that the family and counsel for the owner of 65 Colby Street do not wish to buy the property and that the town is moving to the final step of the process. Stevens said the family has 30 days to pay taxes and water and sewer charges to retain the property; the board signed the letter initiating the next step.
Stevens said the town will issue "no trespass" orders and place signs, install locks on all doors and board up lower-level windows when materials become available. He said residents may retrieve belongings for a short period by coming to the Town Office to be let in; after that the Highway Crew will begin clearing the lawn and site. Stevens said legal review of the property is underway.
