County signs energy contracts, accepts township tax collection delegation and approves $3.9M in December payroll and AP totals

At its Jan. 14 meeting, the Tioga County Board of Commissioners approved administrative and financial items including energy contracts, a township tax-collection delegation, tax refunds and the county's December payroll and accounts payable totals.
The board approved an agreement with Lawrence Township delegating 2025 tax collection to Tioga County. Commissioners also approved a two-year agreement with Shell Energy for Wellsboro electric accounts locking a rate of $0.10047 per kilowatt-hour and a two-year agreement with NRG for Penelec accounts at $0.10749/kWh. The board approved an appointment of Sue Sticklin to the BeST Board for a three-year term and approved a list of county real estate tax refunds for multiple taxpayers (individual refund amounts enumerated in the minutes). The commissioners approved December 2024 payroll and benefits totaling $1,402,913.97 and December 2024 accounts payable totaling $2,488,071.48; motions were moved and seconded and recorded as unanimous.
