Tioga County approves multiple hires, promotions and personnel updates

The Tioga County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 14 approved a series of personnel actions across county departments, including new hires, promotions and notice of resignations and a termination.
Commissioner Shane Nickerson moved, and Commissioner Sam VanLoon seconded, to hire Jessica Field as Clerk for the Prothonotary & Clerk of Courts Office at $14.50 per hour with benefits; the motion carried unanimously. The board also recorded resignations for Helen Stone (911 Dispatcher), effective Jan. 16, 2025, and Ashlie Marsh (Drug & Alcohol), effective Jan. 22, 2025. A previously tendered resignation by Leah Shilling (Caseworker 1, Family Services) was rescinded effective Dec. 3, 2024, and the board acknowledged the termination of Deputy Sheriff Richard Kotch effective Dec. 10, 2024.
Separately, the board approved hiring Krisandra Staron as a C&Y Caseworker Assistant ($16.50/hr., with benefits); hiring Spencer Doan and Emilynn Howell as part-time on-call Corrections Officers at $13.81/hr. (no benefits); and promotions of Dawson Stiles to full-time Corrections Officer at $21.40/hr. with benefits (effective Jan. 5, 2025) and Tamara Wood to Foster Care Caseworker 1 at $17.65/hr. with benefits. Each personnel motion was moved and seconded by commissioners and recorded as unanimous (three ayes, no nays).
