Tioga County awards $4.65 million Marsh Creek Trail contract to low bidder HRI

The Tioga County Board of Commissioners voted Aug. 13 to award the construction contract for the north section of the Marsh Creek Trail to low bidder HRI for $4,653,965. The Board record also lists estimated construction with inspection and contingency at $4,092,440.80 and notes the project was bid through the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
Funding for the project was presented in the minutes as a combination of sources: a TASA federal grant of $1.5 million; a $750,000 federal earmark credited to Sen. Casey; a Carbon Reduction Fund allocation from PA DOT of $1.4 million; and $513,500 from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR). The motion carried unanimously.
