The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners voted Oct. 6 to approve a six-year lease with Tri-State Truck Center for a Mack dump truck equipped with a plow and spreader, at $37,169.20 per year. Commissioner Cory Moates moved to approve the lease and Chair Myra Carlisle Frazier seconded; the motion passed unanimously.
Road and Bridge Supervisor Cody Zook, who is responsible for the county fleet and maintenance, was present during the motion and later gave a related update on striping schedules. The lease record includes a five-year/300,000-mile warranty; the motion did not specify the budget line to be used beyond the recorded approval.
