Director of Compliance Ed Hunt presented a set of transmittals to formalize onboarding and leadership orientation processes for county staff and to accept revisions to the Wayne County Compliance Plan. The committee approved the transmittals by a 4-0 vote.
Hunt said the employee orientation would bring all new hires through a standardized process to establish structure and formalities, and the County Leadership Orientation would apply to employees promoted into leadership roles, with goals to meet key personnel within their first month. Hunt told the committee he is pleased with progress in his first month and that his next step is to complete a draft Standards of Conduct policy, which the county currently lacks.
The approved amendments also included budget adjustments for personnel and contractual appropriations within Compliance to support the new orientation work and policy updates. Implementation responsibility was framed as falling to the Compliance director and supporting HR staff for scheduling and budget execution.
