The Wayne County Government Operations Committee on Jan. 8, 2026 approved a series of staffing, budget and contracting transmittals by 4-0 votes. Items approved included authorizations to amend the 2026 budget to hire an Accounting Supervisor (Grade B) and a Senior Substance Abuse Counselor, and a set of departmental budget and personnel adjustments presented by Compliance and the Department of Law.
Specific approvals recorded on the agenda included authorization to implement employee and leadership orientation policies (Compliance), acceptance of revisions to the Wayne County Compliance Plan, amendments to the Department of Law and Department of Social Services budgets for the transfer of legal positions, and an amendment to the County Attorney’s tuition reimbursement budget. Human Resources transmittals approved included contracts for employment advertising with Audacy Operations, Inc. and Indeed, Inc., renewal of excess employer's liability insurance, setting the salary for the Nursing Home Director of Rehabilitation Services, extending third-party administration services with NCA Comp, adopting a 2026 salary schedule for managerial/confidential staff, and authorization to enter collective bargaining individually in 2026.
Meeting minutes show each of these transmittals carried with a recorded vote of 4-0. The committee packet and agenda were made available in advance; the clerk noted the next Government Operations Committee meeting is scheduled for Feb. 5 at 9:00 a.m.
