Committee approves budget amendment to administer State Septic Replacement Grant

Wayne County’s Public Works Committee approved a 5-0 transmittal to amend the 2026 budget to add funding for the Soil and Water Conservation District to administer the State Septic Replacement Grant Program.
Ron Thorn, manager of the Soil and Water Conservation District, presented the district’s 2025 project summary and outlined ongoing initiatives including e-waste collections, REDI-related work and grant-seeking. The committee reviewed the materials Thorn distributed.
Following the presentation, the committee voted 5-0 to amend the 2026 budget to include funding for the Soil and Water Conservation District to administer the State Septic Replacement Grant Program. No dissent or conditions were recorded in the minutes.
