Commission approves merit raises, hires and an 8% elected-officials pay increase

After a brief executive session to discuss non-elected personnel, the commission returned to open session and approved several personnel actions. Commissioner Jake Liebau moved and Commissioner Perry Russell seconded merit increases for Tina Blackburn (from $13.30/hr to $15.00/hr), Jennifer Eldridge (from $12.50/hr to $14.75/hr) and Susan Kline (from $13.84/hr to $15.50/hr); each motion carried 3-0.
The board also approved the hire of Mercedes Kreyen as a day dispatcher at $14.00/hr. Later in the meeting the commission approved an 8% pay increase for all elected officials for their four-year term, effective with the January payroll; that motion likewise carried 3-0. The minutes show a second executive session at 2:00 p.m. on non-elected personnel that returned at 2:15 p.m. with no action taken.
