Elk County Emergency Manager Erica Cordell reported that all sirens passed the December test cycle. Cordell said she attended regional emergency-management meetings in December and confirmed that the county’s SAMs registration has been successfully renewed for another year, a compliance requirement that affects grant eligibility.
Cordell announced the Local Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC) meeting scheduled for Jan. 16, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the Cox Building and the 'Storm Fury on the Plains' exercise slated for March 5, 2025 at 6:30 p.m. at the same location. She emphasized SAMs compliance as an administrative prerequisite for receiving certain grants.
