Gillian Beaumont, Elk County EMS Director, told the board she has hired a part-time EMT and asked the commissioners for permission to apply for a KRAF matching grant. "I have hired a part-time EMT," Beaumont said; commissioners approved hiring Taylor Dory at $15.00 per hour on a 3-0 vote.
Beaumont described the KRAF grant as a matching program that could fund one of three items: a stair chair, a pediatric restraint system or a ventilator. Commissioner Perry Russell moved and Commissioner Doug Hendricks seconded a motion to authorize Beaumont to apply; the motion carried 3-0. Beaumont indicated the grant would cover part of the cost but must be awarded before purchase decisions are final.
