Clay County OKs $37,791.85 to Keep Riley County Community Corrections Supervision Local

The Clay County Board of Commissioners voted to fund $37,791.85 to sustain Riley County Community Corrections’ direct supervision in Clay County. Director Megan Lewis and Brittney Phillips of Riley County Budget & Finance requested the funding to cover a local Intensive Supervision Officer and 50% of the juvenile intake and assessment program; Commissioner Mayo moved to approve the amount and Commissioner Carlson seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
County officials said the funding addresses a gap between state funding and the local cost of delivering supervision services. The board recorded that the payment will come from the County General Fund; Lewis thanked Clay County for the partnership in maintaining supervision services locally.
