Communications Director Jeff Ridgway sought approval to replace the Emergency Communications Center’s recording system with an Eventide NexLog 740DX from Nelson Systems at an estimated cost of $59,309.47. Ridgway said the existing NICE recorder has been used since at least 2008, the last hardware refresh was in 2021 after water damage, and the recommended replacement supports 32 analog and 32 VoIP devices and will enable screen recordings of CAD computers for short-term retention.
Commissioner Michael Berges moved to approve PO 7985 to purchase the recorder; Chair Neal Younger seconded and the motion passed by voice vote 2–0. Staff said annual software update subscription and optional support packages will be considered in future budgets.
