Wise County rescinds full 90-day burn ban, returns to weather-based restrictions

Fire Marshal Jeff Doughty informed the Court that conditions no longer required the 90-day full burn ban declared at the prior February 9 meeting and recommended reinstating the standard daily weather-based burn restrictions.
Commissioner Kevin Burns moved to rescind the full 90-day burn ban and implement the normal daily weather-based restrictions for 90 days; Commissioner Danny Lambert seconded, and the Court approved the change unanimously. The change restores the County's standard, day-by-day burn guidance and allows District fire officials to advise residents according to current weather conditions.
