Ellis County introduces new staff, announces voter-sticker contest and legislative activity

The board heard several administrative and community engagement items on Feb. 3, including introductions of newly promoted and assigned county employees, an elections outreach contest and a county administrative update on legislation.
Human Resource Manager Jennifer Taylor introduced promoted and transferred staff including Marc Leiker (Weed Control Tech II), Ty McCulloch (Sheriff’s Deputy II), MacKenzie Urban (Paramedic), Luke Warren (Appraiser III) and several others. County Clerk and Election Official Bobbi L. Dreiling described a 6th–12th grade 'I Voted' sticker contest for Ellis County students to encourage civic participation. As Dreiling explained to the board, she is "putting on" the contest for students of Ellis County to engage youth in voting-related civics.
County Administrator Darin Myers reported he attended hearings on HB 2410 in Topeka, which would allow withdrawal from the Central Kansas Library system sooner than two years, and commissioners provided brief reports on recent engagements and meetings. No formal actions were requested on these items at the meeting.
