Landowner Greg Nelson met with the Board and described recurring drainage problems in Section 9, Township 7, Range 2 in Sherman Township. Present at the site were landowners Rick Kahrs and Greg Nelson, Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper, Assistant Highway Administrator Jeff Germann and participant Sam Tiemeyer; each attendee offered opinions on potential fixes and what would be required to resolve the issue.
After reconvening at the Courthouse, the Board authorized Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper to contact the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) regarding the permitting process for placement of a tube at the identified Sherman Township location. Earlier in the day another landowner, Bob Wietharn, had discussed a separate but related road project and said he had gathered 130 signatures in support of the project and planned to submit support letters with a grant application; the minutes note that an engineer has been engaged to prepare grant paperwork and that a survey will be required as part of the grant process.
