Highway Administrator Bobby Shomper told the Clay County Board of Commissioners about recent work (road blading, hauling dirt and rock, pipe installation and landfill tasks) and that one of the new Ford F350 pickups has arrived. Shomper reviewed the warranty coverage that comes with the new pickup compared with the cost of an extended warranty and the Board decided to stay with the original warranty provided by the manufacturer.
Shomper also reported that the Highway Department has received pipes and bands from J & J Drainage ordered after bids, and he reviewed the status of two bridges currently under construction in the county. The minutes record the warranty decision as a Board consensus; no roll‑call vote or dollar amount for the extended warranty is shown in the record.
