Treasurer reports March finances; county records $133,201.86 tobacco settlement and completes Alvord EMS station billing

County Treasurer Katherine Hudson presented the monthly financial report for the month ended March 31, 2026. County Auditor Ann McCuiston reported a tobacco settlement payment from the Texas Department of Health and Human Services of $133,201.86.
McCuiston also presented claims, payroll and multiple line-item budget amendments (including Sheriff's Office and JP1 salary adjustments) and noted capital expenditure items. Judge Clark pointed out the FX5 builder final billing for the newly completed Alvord EMS station; the county plans a grand opening and acknowledged the City of Alvord's donated land for the station. Facilities Manager Jimmy Counts is coordinating signage and radio work for the facility.
