Wise County approves interlocal projects with Runaway Bay, Parker County and Decatur

The Wise County Commissioners' Court unanimously approved several interlocal project agreements on March 23. On behalf of Commissioner Colby Shawn, Judge J.D. Clark presented an agreement with the City of Runaway Bay to replace a failed culvert on Jim Walters Drive with a small bridge; the county will provide surplus ridge beams and hauling services and will install approaches and guardrails, while Runaway Bay funds materials beyond the surplus provided.
Commissioner Danny Lambert requested an interlocal with Parker County to repair Sadie Lane, a road shared by both counties; Wise County will provide labor while Parker County will supply materials. Commissioner John "Biff" Hayes asked to provide additional labor to install another tenth of a mile of asphalt on Greenwood Road in cooperation with the City of Decatur; the Court approved that request as presented.
Each agreement was approved by motion and recorded as unanimously adopted. Officials said the Runaway Bay project will provide a safe detour when County Road 1700 is closed during flood events. The minutes note a prior interlocal with Alvord was discussed at the March 3 Court but finalized March 23 when attachments were signed.
