Commissioner (S3) reminded members of an upcoming regional planning meeting on the 20th and said the town's comprehensive plan (comp plan) is approaching a review window. Members encouraged attendance at regional meetings and agreed to examine the comp plan and zoning bylaws together.
Committee member (S5) described the town's previous FEMA work, saying it required a year of work and affected what can be built in flood plains. "We spent a whole year just on FEMA," S5 said, adding that the rules around floodplain development can be complex and may require state processes for certain exceptions. Members suggested inviting other board representatives and staff to help with the review process and to ensure consistency across boards.
