High Plains Mental Health says new CIC construction nearing finish, aims for early May opening

A representative identified as Craig said: "It is door frames are going up and paint is going on the walls ... the goal is to open May 4." He described the CIC as providing 23 client rooms (16 beds) intended to reduce the wait list for state hospital placements by offering local therapeutic and psychiatric care. Craig said about 30% of staff have been hired and that the county funding model for the CIC will follow a previously discussed six-county allocation and come through board approval.
Commissioners thanked the presenter and expressed eagerness to see the facility open. Craig also said he will be advocating for the project during an annual Washington, D.C. trip with county representatives.
