Adjoining resident Don Petersen read a written objection expressing concerns that a commercial designation could reduce surrounding property values and arguing past operations had not complied with county standards. Assistant County Attorney Derek Marsh and Morris explained Benton County uses a Land Use Ordinance rather than conventional zoning; Morris said the county had issued a notice of violation prompting the application and that, if approved, the owners would receive a compliance certificate. Morris also told the board that "this is for storage and not warehousing and that the facility will not be used for the storage of wind blades." The board approved the change with Supervisors Tippett, Seeman and Volz voting aye.
