County appraiser reports Neighborhood Revitalization enrollments, reminds applicants taxes must be paid

County Appraiser Ryan Michaelis presented an overview of participation in Wabaunsee County's Neighborhood Revitalization Program at the Feb. 2 meeting.
Michaelis reported that between 2023 and 2025 the county enrolled seven commercial projects and four residential rehabilitation projects. For 2026 he said the county has one commercial and three residential rehab projects enrolled; for 2027 he said the county has received one residential rehab and one commercial application so far. Michaelis reminded the board that each enrolled project must pay its full real estate taxes before receiving any rebate under the program.
