Morton County approves Patagonia Health EHR for Health Department

The Morton County Commission on March 9 approved Patagonia Health as the county Health Department’s electronic health records (EHR) vendor following presentation of three bids. Health Department director Kendra presented the quotes: Patagonia Health $41,011.92, Nightingale $44,440.00 and CureMD $67,878; commissioners approved Kendra’s recommendation by motion of Jim Tucker, seconded by Ed Anderson.
Kendra told commissioners the choice responds to departmental needs for record management and that staff will begin procurement steps and scheduling for implementation. She also reported related operations updates: the front door repair was completed by maintenance staff Greg, respiratory fit-testing equipment procurement is in process, and the KU remote testing mobile screening van is scheduled for May 31 in partnership with the local hospital.
The Health Department will not renew its family planning grant, and Kendra requested the County Attorney review a rural transformation grant the hospital CEO, Richard, is researching. Commissioners did not record a vote split in the minutes; the motion to approve Patagonia was recorded as moved by Jim Tucker and seconded by Ed Anderson. The board recessed for lunch at 12:30 and reconvened at 1:25 p.m.
