Morton County begins due diligence on Haven of Hope VA Center; hospital estimates north wing lease at about $10,000/month

The board authorized the chairman to sign a due diligence request for the Haven of Hope VA Center. Morton County Hospital CEO Richard Adams estimated the north wing lease at about $10,000 per month (excluding services) and said the hospital is exploring purchase of an on-site pharmacy and expanding clinical training and screening services.
On a motion by JW Finn, seconded by Ed Anderson (UYV), Morton County commissioners authorized the chairman to sign a due diligence request related to the Haven of Hope VA Center and a proposed ground lease. County Attorney David Thompson will coordinate an appraisal with Morton County Appraiser Angela Eichman as part of the due diligence.
Richard Adams, CEO of Morton County Hospital, told commissioners he estimated leasing the facility’s north wing at about $10,000 per month without housekeeping or kitchen services and said leasing the house on site might bring $500–$1,000 per month. Adams also reported the hospital is exploring purchase of the on-site pharmacy and highlighted opportunities for student hands-on training and expanded cancer screening services if the facility is put into operation.
