The Elk County Board of Commissioners voted to approve a lease-purchase agreement with Howard State Bank for a 2024 Dodge Durango for the Emergency Management program in the amount of $37,125.74. Commissioner Perry Russell moved the measure and Commissioner Jake Liebau seconded; the motion carried 3-0.
Emergency Management Director Erica Cordell told the board she had already picked up the new vehicle and described it as part of routine fleet upgrades to support response activities. The funding mechanism chosen is a bank lease-purchase agreement; the minutes record the purchase amount as $37,125.74 and show the motion passed unanimously. The decision followed Cordell’s report on recent preparedness activities and the department’s inclusion in the Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan.
