Elk County transfers $12,223.90 to emergency equipment fund, approves Jeep repair

The Elk County Board of Commissioners approved two Emergency Management items on Feb. 10: a transfer of $12,223.90 from the County Equipment Reserve Fund into the Emergency Management Equipment Reserve Fund, and authorization to repair a 2013 Jeep at Parks Motors for $2,385.25. The motions carried on recorded 3-0 votes.
EMS Director Gillian Beaumont told the board the department handled 12 runs in December and that the Health/EMS secretary has resigned; she said Taylor Dory has been hired as an EMT and will serve as Emergency Management backup. Emergency Manager Erica Cordell also reported she completed Pathological First Aid training, noted a February 3 siren test identified one siren with issues, and announced a Storm Spotters event scheduled for March 5, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. at the Cox Building in Howard.
