Commission authorizes purchase of Eventide NexLog voice recorder for communications center

Jeff Ridgeway, communications director, recommended replacing the county’s aging NICE brand voice recording system for 9‑1‑1 and dispatch with an Eventide NexLog 740 DX solution. Ridgeway said the county had been using NICE since at least 2008, experienced a water‑damage replacement in 2021, and found annual service costs were no longer providing adequate updates.
He described the Eventide proposal as supporting 32 analog and 32 VoIP devices with the option to add digital screen recording to help troubleshoot dispatch computer issues. "The voice recorder installation training and project management to do the initial installation is estimated at $59,309.47 dollars," Ridgeway said, adding that he would include ongoing software update subscription discussions in the 2027 budget process. The commission voted to approve the PO; Ridgeway said the purchase will be funded from Fund 16 (a capital project fund).
