INDOT names Stacy Gaunt regional transit director; Miami County to oversee Cass County funds

Stacy Gaunt, identified in the meeting as the transit presenter and selected by INDOT as a Regional Director, told the Miami County Board of Commissioners that the 2025 fourth-quarter transit expenses totaled about $139,741. The board voted 3-0 to accept the quarterly report after a motion by Commissioner Brenda Weaver and a second from Commissioner Mark Horner.
Commissioner Weaver moved, and Commissioner Horner seconded, an amendment authorizing a $1,500 bonus expense tied to YMCA management; the board approved a motion to authorize the board president to sign the change pending INDOT approval. The board also recorded that INDOT selected Gaunt as a Regional Director and that Miami County (through the YMCA) will oversee Cass County's funds temporarily; those funds will pass through the Miami County Auditor for administration. The board noted that Gaunt will work half-time in Cass County in 2026 to stabilize that program.
