Board of Adjustment approves 11-foot front-yard variance for McHenry property

The Clark County Board recessed and convened as the Board of Adjustment on March 18 to hear a variance request by Larry McHenry.
P&Z Director Reidburn presented findings and described the property location in the Southwest Quarter of Section 13, Township 115 North, Range 58 West of the 5th P.M. (Darlington Township). McHenry requested an 11-foot front-yard variance to construct a home addition 89 feet from the 181st Street right-of-way; existing structures on the property are located closer to the right-of-way than the proposed addition. The public hearing record shows testimony from McHenry; no additional public testimony was offered. After asking questions and receiving answers, Reidburn restated the motion: "The motion is to approve the 11' front yard variance." The Board voted aye: Sass, Hass, Gjerde, Schlagel and Knock, and the motion carried.
Following approval, the Board of Adjustment adjourned and the County Commission reconvened. The minutes show no conditions or additional permit limitations recorded at the time of approval.
