Clark County commissioners elect leadership, name 2025 committee assignments

At its Jan. 7 meeting the Clark County Board of Commissioners elected Wallace Knock chairman and Sara Gjerde vice chairman for 2025 and announced committee and commission appointments for the year.
Wallace Knock was elected chairman of the Clark County Board of Commissioners and Sara Gjerde was elected vice chairman for 2025, the board recorded at its Jan. 7 meeting. Auditor Christine Tarbox called for nominations; the board then closed nominations and confirmed the two officers by vote.
The board also announced appointments for county committees and external contacts. The chairman assigned Mental Health to Commissioner Gjerde; Extension to Commissioners Sass and Schlagel; Weed & Pest to Commissioner Knock; Airport oversight to Commissioners Schlagel, Gjerde and Hass; I-CAP to Commissioner Hass; First District contact to Commissioners Knock and Gjerde; and additional appointments were read into the record. The minutes state that the motions to elect and to accept the chairman’s appointments carried with all voting aye.
The leadership and appointment list will govern committee representation and external contacts for Clark County through 2025. No financial motions were tied to these assignments; further committee action will be set by each committee as needed.
