Clark County terminates two ambulance staff, approves training attendance

The Clark County Board of Commissioners recorded two personnel terminations in the ambulance department on Dec. 17. On a motion by Sara Gjerde seconded by Terry Schlagel, the board voted to terminate EMT Randy Angermeier effective Dec. 31, 2024; that motion carried with all voting aye.
A separate motion by Wallace Knock, seconded by Terry Schlagel, terminated Paramedic Cassidy Sivertson effective Dec. 31, 2024. The minutes record the vote as: voting aye — Knock, Hass, Gjerde and Schlagel; voting nay — Sass. The motion carried. The meeting also shows Ambulance Administrator Hoefert requested permission to attend the South Dakota Ambulance Association annual conference Feb. 7–9, 2025, and the board approved the attendance on a motion by Schlagel, second by Gjerde (all voting aye).
The minutes do not provide reasons for the personnel actions beyond the executive-session notation; the board’s entry into executive session under SDCL 1-25-2(1) for a personnel matter is recorded earlier in the meeting minutes.
