A police representative said the simulator "has been installed" and the department completed an initial round of training, with a train-the-trainer session scheduled next month. The council then approved a second motion to pay an invoice of $36,840 for a Semtech modular training house, also funded by the Julia Harrison Bruce Foundation. Police staff told the council the modular house had not yet arrived and would take about three months to be delivered; the modular unit consists of movable walls to simulate interior building environments for practice.
Both motions passed on roll call. The council and police staff said the purchases were budgeted and paid with the named grant; no additional local tax dollars were requested at the meeting.
