Committee defers recommendation on IGA and hotel-occupancy ordinance; budget committee to present details
Summary
After questions about revenue flows and modeling, the committee voted to defer both the intergovernmental agreement and the hotel-occupancy ordinance for one meeting so Budget and Finance can present detailed financial analysis; both deferrals passed as committee recommendations.

Council member Capp moved a one-meeting deferral for the IGA item to allow the budget-and-finance committee to present a detailed financial presentation; the motion was seconded and the committee recorded a 6–0 voice/hand vote in favor of deferral. Special counsel clarified that committee recommendations are binding and that deferral will allow members to view the Budget and Finance presentation and supporting materials before providing a recommendation to the full council.
The committee applied the same one-meeting deferral to BL 20 26 14 93, an ordinance to amend Metro code to comply with state public chapter provisions on hotel-occupancy tax; members said the ordinance tracks with the IGA and that financial detail from budget-and-finance will inform the committee’s recommendation when it returns.
