Commissioner Nathan Leiker proposed instituting a non-refundable deposit for fair building rentals during the Jan. 26 work session to ensure the county is protected when events cancel. Chair Neal Younger agreed to adopt the policy approach.
The board gave staff direction to draft the deposit policy for placement on a future agenda. The change is intended to reduce the county’s exposure to last-minute cancellations and improve budget predictability for facility rentals.
