Ruston Fire Department reports April incidents and volunteer hours; training graduations announced

Fire Chief Bruce Allen presented the Ruston Fire Department’s monthly metrics at the May 20 council meeting. He reported 43 incidents year to date, with April including 2 fire/service incidents and 13 medical-aid calls. Chief Allen also said the department logged 1,529 volunteer hours in April and 6,426 hours year-to-date, and that the membership roster currently lists 22 of 25 positions filled (18 members, 4 officers).
Chief Allen thanked staff who organized the Easter Egg Hunt and announced upcoming training milestones: graduation from the Buckley FF1 Academy on May 31 (two more FF1s expected) and completion of an EMT student’s class. He also noted that Engine 33 is scheduled for annual inspection and pump testing.
