Fire Chief Bruce Allen presented the Ruston Fire Department's monthly review for January 2025. He reported a year-to-date total of seven incidents in January (one fire/service and six medical-aid responses), and said volunteer firefighters logged 1,432 hours in January and year-to-date. Chief Allen also provided a current membership roster showing 21 of 25 positions filled (18 members and three officers) and highlighted training progress by members enrolled in regional EMT and firefighter academies.
Chief Allen noted the department has begun to see some reimbursement for ambulance transports, signaling a slight improvement in cost recovery for medical calls. The department continues recruitment and training efforts to maintain staffing and operational readiness.
