Delaware City Council approved a new D3 liquor license for Suela Food Services, which will operate at 18 South Sandusky Street in the former Opa's restaurant space. Chief of Police Adam Moore told council the department had reviewed the application and found "no information that would match any of the statutory reasons for us to recommend an objection to this permit." The council moved, seconded and, by roll call, carried the motion to approve the permit.
Moore noted the applicants already own and operate nearby restaurants and have prior liquor permits; he also said additional permits related to reconfiguring the former Opa's space are likely to come before council. The approval clears the way for on-site service of hard liquor at the new business, subject to any standard permit conditions and the city's licensing processes.
