Acting town engineer Jeremy Downs requested the Select Board sign an order of taking to acquire easements from four parcels required for the Stony Brook rehabilitation project, a final administrative step before MassDOT can advertise the project for construction bids. "The order taking before you will acquire easements from four abutting properties ... It's the very last step in the planning and design process that started back in 2017," Downs told the board, and noted the goal to advertise for bids in August to meet federal fiscal-year timing.
Board members expressed appreciation for the engineer's long-term work on the project and approved the motion by unanimous vote. The engineer said the easements are necessary to complete the project design and that the town has been working on the project since 2017; the board will sign the order to allow MassDOT to proceed with advertising and later construction.
