Maplewood High and Bridgestone praised as district celebrates partnership and student win

The board paused to recognize community and school partnerships and student achievement before the business portion of the meeting. Superintendent Dr. Battle highlighted the long-running partnership between Maplewood High School and Bridgestone Americas, noting that the site hosts a fully functioning automotive training center offering hands-on instruction and industry certifications since 2015.
"More than 145 students have graduated from the Bridgestone program in Maplewood with many going on to internships and full-time employment," Dr. Battle said. The board asked the Maplewood and Bridgestone team members to stand for recognition.
The board also recognized Jonathan Rodriguez Solomon, a student at Amqui Global Communications Magnet K-8, who won first place in a national science competition. Leaders invited the student and family forward for photos and congratulated them on representing Metro Nashville Public Schools publicly.
