Committee forwards resolution to remove outdated no-parking restrictions in multiple subdivisions to council

"Because of the length of time the signage has been in place... by the acceptance of a plat, it's the same force as something approved by an ordinance," staff said, recommending the committee forward a draft resolution covering six subdivisions and roughly 30 streets for council consideration.
A motion to move the adjustments to the new parking zones in various neighborhoods to council passed on a roll call vote. Committee members said most residents will welcome the restorations and that staff should handle isolated complaints on a case-by-case basis rather than mail broad notices to hundreds of households. The resolution will be placed on the council agenda for consideration; staff advised the petition process and council referral steps discussed at the meeting.
