Residents ask city for marked crosswalk and flashing lights on Cheshire Road

"It is extremely dangerous crossing Cheshire," Brucato said, describing three to four lanes of traffic and no sidewalks on the south side where her 53-unit complex sits.
Another petitioner, Stanley Michnowitz, said many residents are retirees — "average age 70 years plus" — and urged the committee to require flashing lights with any crosswalk because, he said, "if it doesn't have the flashing lights, it's not gonna get recognized by vehicle or traffic." Staff and the police chief took notes during both comments and the chair asked staff to follow up; no formal commitment or schedule was given during the meeting. The petition copies were left with the clerk for the record.
