Council approves liquor permits for Esparido LLC at US-23 North; city cites no statutory objection

Chief of Police Adam Moore said the standard background review turned up no statutory reasons to recommend an objection. The Economic Development Director described the proposal as an economic-development project that would create about 25 jobs and projected tax impacts including approximately $20,000 in withholding-related jobs tax, $75,000 in sales-tax estimates and $25,000 in state withholding tax (as presented by staff).
“D1, D2 and D3 would allow the restauranteur to have liquor service consistent with a restaurant setting — beer, wine and spirits until 1 a.m.,” Chief Moore said. Council voted to approve the permits by roll call.
