Public Utilities Director Lake Jordan said the US‑23 drainage rehabilitation has been in the CIP for years but remains tied to Ohio Department of Transportation scheduling and likely will be paid out in 2027 rather than 2026. "We are highly dependent on ODOT's schedule for this," he said, noting timing uncertainty could push the project into next year.
Jordan also raised a new Bell Avenue and Liberty stream-restoration project to remedy rapid erosion that is encroaching on the roadway and guardrail; engineering plans are anticipated with construction in 2027 unless the situation becomes an emergency. He added the city will again pursue Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for the Columbus-Montrose-Toledo area to address undersized water lines, sidewalks, and stormwater problems, with the CIP lines representing the city's contribution to a coordinated grant effort.
