Council approves Grater’s restaurant development plan at Belmont Place

The Delaware City Council voted to approve a development plan for a Grater’s restaurant and drive-thru at Belmont Place during the Aug. 25 meeting.
Planning staff presented the site plan for a roughly 2,600-square-foot building with a drive-through on the north elevation, an outdoor patio and 38 parking spaces (35 required). Staff said the site plan, lighting and landscaping met zoning requirements and recommended approval with standard staff conditions.
Council member (mover) made the motion and a second was recorded; the council voted by roll call with all votes recorded as Yes and the resolution passed. One council member later expressed enthusiasm about the use as a family-friendly amenity near the Delaware Area Career Center.
