Dr. Ken Ward, Parish Administrator, presented updated job descriptions for multiple positions and proposed a new Purchasing Manager role, saying the changes reflect additional responsibilities and a need to separate purchasing duties from facilities staff. Specific proposals included raising the Labor Grade for Community Outreach Librarian from 20 to 24, changing the Property Standards Inspector to report to the Parish Engineer and increasing its Labor Grade from 20 to 22 while adding Utility Permit Inspector duties, increasing the Staff Accountant grade from 26 to 27, and raising the Engineering Construction Assistant grade from 16 to 19. Dr. Ward said the new Purchasing Manager would report to Parish Treasurer Stacie Fernandez to ensure separation of purchasing and invoice approval responsibilities.
Chairman Doug Rimmer called for a committee vote to forward the package to the full police jury on the April 1, 2026 Regular agenda; the committee voted in favor. The committee recording notes the updates will be presented for a full jury vote on April 1, 2026. No amendments or objections to the recommendation were recorded during the committee meeting.
