Town staff briefed the Select Board on a developer Letter of Intent (LOI) for the proposed Camper's World project and emphasized that establishing a TIF district is only one step: the funding plan and bond approvals must still be developed and put to town voters.
Select members and staff discussed key process milestones: the LOI is an early critical‑path item the developer needs; an advisory board will be formed to help shepherd planning and finance plans; attorney review of the LOI is recommended before the board formally 'blesses' it; and public hearings will be scheduled after legal review. Staff said the funding plan must go to voters in March 2027 and that, while the TIF district designation is approved, no funding mechanism has yet been approved by voters.
Board members and residents asked for public review and explicit planning‑board review; staff confirmed the project will be presented conceptually to the planning board and later via formal applications with public hearings as the project advances. The board directed staff to pursue attorney review of the LOI, plan public engagement and set up the advisory board process.
