Greer City Council approved a staff recommendation to purchase furniture, fixtures and equipment for the Sports & Events Center at a proposed price of $684,913, to be funded from the Corporation for Greer Fund.
Adam Foranger presented the package and said staff "went room by room through the facility to identify what is the essential need for the complex to operate." He described the largest line items—court bleachers, banquet and folding seating, office furniture and cafe seating—and confirmed the items were procured using state term contracts and cooperative purchasing. Council members asked about the longevity and cost of picnic benches and banquet chairs; staff replied the selected pieces are commercial grade and competitively priced through state contracts. The motion to receive and approve the recommendation carried by recorded council assent.
